Sahara issue: Ban Ki-moon hopes the parties will work with his Personal Envoy to resume negotiations

(United Nations) - The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, on Thursday voiced hope that the parties will work with his Personal Envoy, Christopher Ross, to resume negotiations on the Sahara issue soon, Ban "expresses his hope that the parties will now work with his Personal Envoy, Mr Christopher Ross, to resume negotiations in the near future towards a settlement of the Sahara issue," a statement of his spokesperson said in New York,He said he is grateful for the efforts of all the parties involved in finding a solution to the situation of Aminatou Haidar, and "appreciates the action Morocco has taken in this regard."
