The latest report of the United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon on the Sahara is in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 1813 (April 2008), which termed as "serious and credible" Morocco's initiative to grant autonomy to its southern provinces, Morocco's Prime Minister told the Moroccan second TV channel "2M".

Only a negotiated solution would end the dispute, Abbas El Fassi said in an interview aired Wednesday.

Morocco has full sovereignty over its southern provinces -the Sahara- which enjoy prosperity and development, he said, stressing that any settlement of the Sahara can only be achieved under Morocco's sovereignty.

El Fassi also described as a "serious provocation" the break-in of 1,400 people, supervised by the polisario, into the buffer zone in the Sahara.
