UNHRC never gave support to NGO's allegations on HR abuses in Sahara

Geneva - The separatists' allegations saying that the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) approved written statements made by the pro-polisario NGO "France Libertés-Fondation Danielle Mitterrand" on "the looting of
resources" and the so-called human rights breaches in the Moroccan Sahara are "incorrect", an official at the UN body said on Wednesday.
"This information is incorrect and does not fit with the UNHRC way the working," the official, a member of the HRC Secretariat, told MAP, making it clear that the UNHRC "does not vote on NGOs' statements but rather on resolutions filed by States," he explained


A large number of documents are prepared and handed out by various NGOs during UNHRC sessions, but they only represent the point of view of their authors and not the opinion of the UN body or its member-states.
