Even in tackling complex issues of our time, we should not lose sight of the founding principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, by virtue of which the UN activities should be carried out by people with high qualities of work, competence and integrity, the UN chief said.

In this respect, Mr. Ban voiced determination to establish a culture of deontology and responsibility in the UN so that “we can be fully accountable for our actions to Member States and the international public opinion.”

Aware of the expectations placed in the Organization, “I will do my utmost” to achieve this objective of efficiency in each of our activities, in such a way as to better meet the common priorities, he said.

While my colleagues and I set out to undertake this mission, it is gratifying to know that the Organization can count on Morocco’s advices, commitment and support to achieve efficiency in each of its activities, concluded the message.
