Moroccan journalist denied access to International conference on Sahara issue

Las Palmas,A Moroccan journalist, MAP correspondent in Las Palmas, was denied on Friday access, to a conference on the Sahara issue taking place in the Canary Islands on June 27-28,The journalist submitted a credential request, more than ten days before the event, and contacted Manuel Romero -a Spanish in charge of the organization- to cover this two-day conference. However, when he turned up to attend the opening session of the conference, he was denied access, while other journalists were able to access the room,Romero, who notified MAP correspondent of refusal to let him in, was unable to explain this decision, claiming that his credential request was rejected. 


A few years ago, two other MAP journalists in Madrid and Rome were banned from covering similar meetings on Sahara issue.
